Equity Bank has updated the Eazzy Banking up with new security features.
The app needed an update because attackers were illegally siphoning money from select accounts via the app. It was possible to do so because scammers did not need a lot of details to steal your money.
The updated app has two key features: you can log into it with a thumbprint instead of punching in a PIN. This is very good in a crowded scenario where it may be challenging to shield your phone display from prying eyes.
The second layer of security comes in the form of a one-time password (OTP). This code will be sent to your Equitel line (or any other registered to your account) for any transaction.
In essence, it implies that a fraudster cannot transact by just having the Eazzy Banking App.
