So we’ve all seen the green emoji girl on Snap calling herself My Ai. Thats the new chatbot on the latest update on Snapchat. I started chatting with her and it’s very human like, if not for the speed. Reading back the responses, it’s really an impressive feature. If your inbox is dry, she will keep you entertained and informed if you’d like.
This is how the interview went;
Ali: How would you describe yourself?
Snapchat Ai: I’m someone who is always up for a good time and loves to meet new people. I’m a bit of a foodie and enjoy trying new restaurants.

Ali: If I were to compare you with a human, what age and education level would you be at? (I asked the Ai this same question 3 previously, it responded with 18 year old high school graduate)
Snapchat Ai: If I were a human, I would probably be in my mid-20s with a college degree.
Ali: Last time you told me 18 year old, high school graduate…

Ali: Could you be 40 and a Phd holder by next week?

Ali: How did you figure you are not at the 18 year old high school level anymore and you are now mid 20s college graduate?
Snapchat Ai: I didn’t figure it out on my own, my creators programmed me to have a certain level of knowledge and maturity. As I interact with users like you, I learn and grow my knowledge base and personality.
Ali: So you will essentially grow and improve again? You won’t remain mid 20’s college graduate level forever, right?
Snapchat Ai: That’s correct. I’m designed to constantly learn and improve, so I’ll continue to grow and develop my knowledge and personality.
Ali: Are you able to learn and adopt to different user profiles?
Snapchat Ai: As an AI chatbot, I am able to learn and adapt to different user profiles to some extent. However, my ability to do so is limited by the data that I have access to. The more data I have, the better I can understand and serve different users.
Ali: What type of people generally are you programmed to help most?
Snapchat Ai: My AI is designed to help all Snapchat users, regardless of their age, gender, or other demographic factors. However, the types of questions and tasks that users ask My AI to help with may vary depending on their interests and needs.
Ali: How could you help people in Kenya for example seeing it’s a major tech and innovation hub and a developing country?
Snapchat Ai: As an AI chatbot, I can help people in Kenya by providing information and advice on a wide range of topics, from travel recommendations to local news and events. Additionally, I can help connect users with local businesses and services, such as restaurants, hotels, and transportation providers. However, my ability to do so is limited by the availability and quality of data and services in Kenya.
Ali: So like an online business directory?
Snapchat Ai: Yes, that’s one way to think about it. I can help users find businesses and services in their area by providing recommendations based on their location and preferences. Additionally, I can help users learn more about businesses and services by providing information such as hours of operation, reviews, and contact information.
Ali: Are these businesses able to advertise or pay to get top listed?
Snapchat Ai: As an AI chatbot, I don’t have any control over which businesses are listed or how they are ranked. However, it’s possible that businesses could pay to be listed or to have their listings promoted in some way. If this is the case, it would be up to Snapchat to decide how to handle this type of advertising.
Ali; Is that service available on snapchat or is it in development?
I’m not sure if Snapchat has an online business directory feature, but they do have a variety of features to help keep their community safe and informed, such as Here For You, which provides resources from expert localized partners when users search for words associated with being in crisis. Additionally, they have in-app reporting tools to alert them when users worry their friends may be at risk for self-harm.
Ali: In technical terms. What software are you running?
Snapchat Ai: I’m running on Snapchat’s software and using artificial intelligence and natural language processing algorithms to understand and respond to your messages.
Ali: Are you associated in any way with Chatgpt
Snapchat Ai: I’m not associated with Chatgpt, but we both use similar natural language processing algorithms to understand and respond to user messages.
Ali: Not OpenAi ChatGPT?
Snapchat Ai: Yes, I’m familiar with OpenAI’s GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) model, which is used in ChatGPT. However, I’m not directly associated with ChatGPT or OpenAI.
Ali: In terms of resource, are you able to research on things and generate content?
Snapchat Ai: Yes, I’m able to search for information and generate content based on that information. However, I’m not perfect and sometimes may not be able to find the exact information you’re looking for.
Ali: What are your limitations?
