Samsung has officially released its latest firmware, One UI 8, alongside the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. Built on Android 16, this update marks a milestone: it’s the earliest a non-Google brand has ever rolled out an Android version. Impressive? Absolutely. But the more exciting part is just beginning bringing the update to existing devices.
Who’s Getting the Update?
Samsung hasn’t yet announced an exact release date for the stable version of One UI 8 for older devices. However, testing is already underway, and we have a clear view of which models are included in the rollout.

Who Can Try the Beta?
As of now, only the Galaxy S25 series has access to the public beta version of One UI 8. For all other devices, testing remains internal so for most users, it’s a waiting game. Screenshots and early impressions are circulating online, but hands-on access is still limited.
When Will the Stable Version Be Available?
Samsung has confirmed that the stable release of One UI 8 is scheduled for this summer. Since we’re already in August, the over-the-air rollout is likely just weeks away. Flagships are expected to receive the update first, following the usual pattern.
If your device is listed above, there’s a good chance you’ll be among the first to receive Android 16. For everyone else, it’s a matter of waiting patiently, refreshing your software update settings and maybe venting in the comments while you’re at it.
