Huawei‍‌‍‍‌ announced that it would be releasing its November 2025 security patch for its smartphones that operate on EMUI. The most recent version is primarily focused on fixing software flaws and improving the security of the device in general across numerous EMUI builds, such as versions 12, 13, 14, 14.2, and 15.

The company also states that the update addresses a total of four critical and fourteen medium-level security issues. Most of these problems were linked to system settings, screen recording, video processing, the Gallery app, call functions, and app lock modules. Additionally, Huawei has fixed 18 defects in third-party libraries that will enhance system stability and performance.

The update to the system not only closes existing loopholes but also elevates the system’s capabilities to prevent future cyber-attacks, thus, to some extent, turning EMUI into a system with an upgraded “digital immunity.”

The launch of the patch will be staggered over the next few weeks. Users can perform the update themselves by going to Settings → Software Update. Even though there is no visual change in the update, Huawei advises that it be done as soon as possible to ensure that the device remains safe and the system runs smoothly.

The main changes are:

  • Removal of the security issues that led to the identification numbers CVE-2025-58302, CVE-2025-58303, CVE-2025-58306, and CVE-2025-58316
  • Rectification of malfunctions in settings, gallery, screen recording, and call modules
  • Third-party libraries that were once the cause of potential system crashes are now patched
  • Generalization of EMUI’s stability and performance were enhanced

Huawei is still committed to delivering routine security updates for even the most aged EMUI versions so as to keep a steady level of security throughout its portfolio of ‍‌‍‍‌devices.
