Huawei has released its August 2025 security patch, introducing more than 46 bug fixes across various system components. Alongside these updates, the company has expanded monthly support to several new devices from the Mate, Pura, and Nova series, as well as its latest MatePad tablets. At the same time, a number of older models have been moved to a quarterly update schedule.
What’s New in the August Patch?
This month’s update includes fixes for issues affecting the Gallery, Lock Screen, System Settings, and a wide range of background components that usually go unnoticed until they cause problems. However, the most significant change is the updated list of models now receiving monthly attention.
Newly Added to the Monthly Update Cycle
Huawei has added several 2024 flagship smartphones and high-end tablets to its regular update schedule. These devices will now receive monthly patches:

Time to Update or Upgrade?
If you’re using a recent Huawei device, it’s a good idea to install the August patch as soon as possible. On the other hand, if your phone or tablet has shifted to quarterly updates, it might be time to consider an upgrade perhaps to the MatePad 12X or the Nova 13.
