Samsung is rewriting the rules once again. According to fresh leaks, January 2026 will not bring just another upgrade of the Galaxy S26—it will mark a complete redesign of the entire lineup.
This time, there will be no traditional Galaxy S26 or S26+. Instead, Samsung plans to launch three models: the Galaxy S26 Pro, the Galaxy S26 Air, and at the very top, the Galaxy S26 Ultra—featuring a groundbreaking display that protects your privacy without the need for filters or screen protectors.
Flex Magic Pixel: A Smarter Privacy Screen
Meet Flex Magic Pixel OLED. While prototypes have been showcased at tech expos before, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to be the first mass-market smartphone to use it. This display uses AI to narrow viewing angles, preventing strangers in public spaces from peeking at your private messages, banking details, or emails.
Unlike traditional privacy films that dim brightness and distort colors, Flex Magic Pixel preserves vivid clarity and sharp detail—visible only to you.
CoE: The Technology Behind It
At the core of this innovation is CoE (Color Filter on Encapsulation), a display technology Samsung already uses in its foldable devices. CoE makes screens thinner, more power-efficient, and crucially, brighter. It is the backbone that allows Flex Magic Pixel to work without any loss in quality. The same technology is expected to appear in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in 2026.
The 2026 Galaxy Lineup: A Shift in Strategy
Samsung is shaking up its naming structure:
- Galaxy S26 Pro – a 6.3-inch entry flagship.
- Galaxy S26 Air – replacing the Plus model, and clearly positioned against Apple’s iPhone 17 Air.
- Galaxy S26 Ultra – the flagship powerhouse with advanced AI and display magic.
What Does This Mean?
Samsung is moving away from the familiar formula, aligning its naming with rival Apple while streamlining the series. Air vs Air, Pro vs Pro, and Ultra as the ultimate flagship.
Although these details are still early leaks, if they hold true, the Galaxy S26 lineup could become the boldest and most unconventional in the history of the Galaxy S series.
