Huawei may be ending 2025 with an unexpected major change. Information and the cost of the new Huawei Mate 70 Air have been leaked, indicating that the company is gearing up for a strategic move that could shake its rivals.

Based on the latest leak from China Telecom’s database and the insider @FixedFocus on Weibo, the Mate 70 Air is not just a concept but is already in its final stage of launch. What is more, the device might not draw attention to itself by its performance but rather by its price.

The Huawei Mate 70 Air is said to be launched in China in this November, with a price ranging from $410 to $550, reports said. To make a comparison, the regular Mate 70 is priced at $750, whereas the highest-end 1TB variant is $950.

Nonetheless, the part that truly captivates the audience is beyond the pricing. It looks like Huawei is not willing to downgrade technology just for the sake of saving money. The early leaks suggest three significant enhancements for the Mate 70 Air:

  • Complete eSIM integration — the first device in the Mate series to go fully without a physical SIM slot.
  • Ultra-thin frame that might make it the thinnest flagship of Huawei so far.
  • An improved Kirin chipset, supposedly configured for low power consumption and light performance.

In that case, the cheaper Huawei Mate 70 Air could be more than just a lower-cost model of the regular one. It might be a well-thought move to lure those users who are looking for a high-end experience but can’t afford the price of a flagship device.

The insider also said that the phone would be out in the first part of November and that the sales would start by the middle of the month. Furthermore, he said, “The cost will be reasonable—this Mate will be affordable to everyone.”

Even if Huawei has not revealed full specs, the rapid rate of leaks implies that something bigger is coming. The Mate 70 Air might be the company’s boldest attempt to achieve the perfect balance among design, innovation, and affordability in a single product.
