It looks like Honor is following in Huawei’s footsteps, gearing up to launch a flagship smartphone equipped with a dual telephoto camera system similar to the one found in the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra but with even more advanced hardware under the hood.
According to a leak from DigitalChatStation, Honor is already testing a cutting-edge zoom system, which includes a lens with a variable focal length. The brand appears to be experimenting with a dual telephoto setup, much like Huawei’s, but possibly with added firepower.
Insiders suggest that Honor is hard at work developing a new camera module featuring two telephoto lenses, modeled after the Pura 80 Ultra. The company is also rumored to be integrating its 200-megapixel sensor, indicating a serious push toward high-resolution imaging.
For context, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra made headlines as the first smartphone to feature a switchable dual periscope telephoto system, offering optical zoom levels of 3.7x and 9.4x in a single module. It uses a combination of 50 MP and 12.5 MP telephoto lenses, both enhanced with an RYYB color filter for superior low-light performance.
But Honor might be aiming even higher. Rumors point to a continuous optical zoom, two distinct focal lengths, and a powerful 200 MP main sensor potentially surpassing the Pura 80 Ultra in versatility and photographic range.

The upcoming device likely to be called the Honor Magic 8 could also break records in battery life and screen size. Early leaks mention a massive 7,000 mAh battery paired with a 7-inch display, hinting at a smartphone that blurs the line between phone and tablet.
