Huawei is set to unveil four new products next month: two tablets, a pair of budget wireless earbuds, and a refreshed edition of the Watch 5. While no smartphones will be announced in August, fans of the Huawei ecosystem still have reasons to stay tuned.
If you’ve been waiting for the Nova Flip 2 or another affordable smartphone from Huawei, you’ll need to be patient a little longer. The company has no plans to release any new phones this August. Instead, Huawei is shifting its focus toward tablets and wearable devices.
According to insider @UncleKanshan, the following four products are scheduled for announcement in the coming weeks:
- Huawei FreeBuds 7i – an affordable pair of true wireless earbuds
- Huawei MatePad 11.5S (2025) – a refreshed mid-range tablet
- Huawei MatePad Air (2025) – a higher-end model designed for performance
- Huawei Watch 5 (New Edition) – a reworked version of the existing smartwatch
Originally, the FreeBuds 7i were expected to launch alongside the Watch GT 6 and Huawei’s second-generation foldable. That release has since been delayed, and the earbuds will likely debut alongside the new tablets and smartwatch.
What to Expect from the New MatePad Line
Huawei typically updates its tablet lineup in the summer. Last August saw the launch of the MatePad Air (2024), and the 2025 models are shaping up to be a natural evolution of that series.
Key specs for the upcoming MatePad Air (2025) include:
- A 12-inch display with a 2800 × 1840 resolution
- 144 Hz refresh rate
- A new processor from the Kirin 9000 series
- 66W fast charging support
- Color options inspired by natural tones: Grass Green, Cherry Pink, Feather Sand White, and Smoke Gray
Watch 5 Gets a New Edition and Rumors Swirl Around a New ‘Watch X’
The upcoming version of the Huawei Watch 5 is already drawing attention, though official details remain scarce. What has sparked speculation is a mysterious new model known as Watch X, which some believe could be the successor to the Watch 5 Pro.
It’s still unclear whether Huawei plans to reveal the Watch X in August or simply introduce new color variants of the current Watch 5. Either way, fans of the brand’s wearable tech have something to look forward to.
