Steps to Retrieve Your NSSF Number
1. Visit an NSSF Office or Huduma Centre
- Bring your ID, passport, or other valid document.
- Explain you lost your number at the counter.
- Present the document to verify your identity.
- You’ll receive your NSSF number right away.
- You might also get a PIN key for portal use.
2. Use the NSSF Self-Service Portal for Contributions
- Go to the portal: selfservice.nssf.or.ke
- Select “Contributions Statement”.
- Log in using your username and password.
- If you forget your login, visit NSSF for a recovery key.
3. Check Contributions via SMS
- Send a message in this format: NSSF [NSSF Number] [Birthdate] [Full Name].
- Send the message to 6773.
- Wait for a reply with a secure PIN.
- Type Bal [PIN] and send again to 6773.
- Your balance will be sent back in an SMS.
Registering for an NSSF Number
If you’re not yet registered, go to the NSSF website. Complete the member registration form. Print it and submit it at an NSSF branch to complete the process. You’ll get your NSSF number and card after that.
